Feature Project: Wildcat Discovery Technologies - Lab Expansion

San Diego, CA

Davis & Adams Construction completed a $1.1 million, 6,647-square-foot laboratory expansion and specialty systems project supporting Wildcat’s advanced battery research and development operations. The project included approximately 3,000 square feet of low-humidity dry rooms and 3,500 square feet of additional advanced research space - all while the existing facility remained fully operational.

To maintain the extremely low humidity levels battery development demands, Davis & Adams installed specialized environmental control systems and constructed a structural steel platform above the facility to carry the large dehumidification equipment. The project also included major electrical infrastructure upgrades and extensive process utility systems - argon, nitrogen, compressed air, and vacuum piping - distributed throughout the facility.

The work was distinguished by close collaboration with Wildcat’s technical team, whose battery research expertise shaped design and equipment procurement. Davis & Adams coordinated installation of owner-furnished specialty equipment while carefully managing construction around ongoing operations - delivering a research environment that supports cutting-edge battery technology development.
